Hot Pocket, Klondike Bar and Homeopathic Peas

Tuesday March 31st, 2009 by Anthony · Lunch

Hot Pocket

Hot Pocket

The economy is in a tough place and you need to save where we can. So, my advice to you is go out and buy hot pockets and klondike bars (in fact stuff your freezer with them) and eat those for lunch. Then to heal your bruised ego from being wrong for so long as you will find out below use homeopathic peas.

Using this public forum that I have before me I would like to address something that has been concerning me. For sometime now I have been staking the claim that a less filled freezer runs more efficiently than a full freezer. The importance of freezer efficiency is no joking matter, and is something that I take very seriously. But today my friends I stand before you a broken man because today I have come to learn that I am wrong. I owe a great apology to those in my life that I did not believe. This is for you Jim and Mike. I have come to learn that a more full freezer runs more efficiently but did also learn (as I had expected) that airflow also plays a major part in its efficiency. So, for all you non-believers out there (like I used to be) freezers run more efficiently when they are full. Now go out there and buy, hot pockets, ice cream and homeopathic peas.

Falafel in a Pita

Friday March 27th, 2009 by drazin · Lunch

Today is the first really nice day in a while here in NYC. These are the best days to grab yourself a Falafel sandwich with all the fixins in a pita and get your ass to your nearest park and spend your lunch hour outside. Pita sandwiches are great because you can eat them with one hand on the go.

A Hawaiian Sandwich

Thursday March 26th, 2009 by Anthony · Lunch

In honor of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana`ole Day in Hawaii. This is a wonderful sandwich that truly embraces the “fuck it” I don’t care what I eat, how I look, or how clogged my arteries are mentality we have in the great United States. And who better to give us this sandwich than youngest of the 50 states, the one with the freshest arteries, the one that has not had the opportunity to have its stomach flap over its pants belt (acting as a second belt itself).

Ingredients:

2 slices of White bread (preferably using bleached flour to make sure it is specifically unhealthy)
4 pieces of cooked Bacon (from a big, none of that turkey bullshit)
1/4 can of drained Pineapple chunks (to make it hawaiian)
and shredded Cheddar Cheese

Directions: Place 1 piece of white bread on oven rack with 2 pieces of bacon, pineapple chunks and cover with cheddar cheese. Repeat with another piece of bread, and broil until the cheese is melted then smack the two together and go to town.

Super Beef

Tuesday March 24th, 2009 by Anthony · Lunch

The Super Beef, Super has a duel meaning, one for the size of the sandwich and also for awesomeness that the sandwich itself possesses. This is somewhat of a currency in

Super Beef

my parts. If someone owes you something you can pay them in Super Beefs that are equal to the dollar amount owed to a person. These are also rewards for some ill advised bets. As we speak I am owed one Super Beef and waiting patiently to cash it in.

You can order these a number of different ways. Some people like, cheese, sauce, mayo or lettuce. Really the options are endless.

My favorite is a Super Beef with horseradish and sauce on an onion bulky roll.

Also at most Roast Beef places you can get “Dinner Plates” which will usually include a side salad, fries and onion rings along with the Super Beef for anywhere between$8-9, which is a huge bargain.
I have heard that Roast Beef shops are somewhat of a Northeast thing and cannot be found all over the country, and for those that do not have Roast Beef shops do not confuse this with Arby’s they are a fraud compared to what to you see to the right.

Chicken Kebab

Friday March 20th, 2009 by Anthony · Lunch

According to EarthCalendar.net today is Petroleum Day in Iran, and this post goes out to all of our Iranian viewers. Also, below I translated everything into Arabic for easier viewing using Google’s Translator (who knows how accurate it is). A Chicken Kebab, found a recipe on Iranonline.com, but it was more of a Dinner meal than a Lunch, so I am throwing a little twist on it from my experiences with Kebabs. And if I had Oil Money then I would be buying these everyday for lunch.

Chicken Kebab

Chicken Kebab

English Version:
Looks delicious doesn’t it? Its basically shaved/cut/pulled chicken with a myriad of spices, I don’t know what they are but they are delicious and grilled to perfection. Added into a pita with an array of sauces you can choose from with “salad” which is just lettuce and peppers and onion usually. Also, the place I go to would usually serve some type of spiced rice and or couscous. So, go seek out your local Iranian delicatessen and ask for one of these.

Turkey Pannini with Chips

Thursday March 19th, 2009 by Anthony · Lunch

Just made this sandwich up so there are no images. My culinary creative genius is too powerful for Google Images. Just get panini type bread, fill it with turkey, provolone, bacon and cole slaw for some bite, maybe some type of mayonnaise or something like that, make sure it is pressed and the grill marks are at a 45 degree angle other wise throw it away. Also, some Cape Cod chips on the side, original or one of their newer flavors Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper is nice. Add a pickle on the side and you are done. Eat the shit out of this thing its going to be good.

Mongolian BBQ

Wednesday March 18th, 2009 by drazin · Lunch

Today is “Man’s Day” in Mongolia which i assume means you get to eat meat and get blow jobs all day, but I’m not sure.  So let us celebrate in our own way by exploiting the eating habits and methods of our Mongolian friends.  If you are not familiar with Mongolian food, it’s like stir fry but like the ancient Mongolians who cooked food on the back of their shields during battle, the food is cooked on a giant flat grill.

I’m sure your town has one of these places so gather your co workers and head over and celebrate “Man Day”!
